The children have enjoyed the introduction of our Easter topic in nursery this week. On Tuesday they decorated some cardboard eggs with natural materials such as flowers and twigs and hung them from our Easter tree. We also used Easter egg stencils to make prints with and created some lovely Easter egg collages too.
They’ve been enjoying music time with the egg shakers and have learned some new songs such as ‘chick, chick, chicken, lay a little egg for me’ and the Easter bunny song.
They’ve enjoyed making Easter nest cakes both to eat and at the playdough table and the rainbow rice sensory tray has been a big hit.
We had Melanie from Urban Motion Dance in again on Thursday and got some great pictures of the children doing their hip hop poses in the funky sunglasses she brought in. It’s lovely to see them learning new moves, growing in confidence and giving it a go.
We are looking forward to going on our Easter trip to Castlecoole on the bus next week. Our trip is on Wednesday 27th March which is our last day of term before the Easter holidays. School reopens on Monday 8th April.
