Our new topic for the New Year is all about cold weather and cold countries. We are learning how some people in these areas live in houses which are different to ours called igloos.
This week the children have been exploring ice and its properties by helping to make icebergs for water play. There has been lots of discussion about freezing and melting and what causes this to happen.
We enjoyed taking part in the penguin dance,waddling and flapping around and have been reading lots of stories about penguins. Some of the children painted lovely pictures and we made sparkling winter collages using cold colours.
Our new songs are all about the cold weather and what clothes we need to wear to keep warm when going outside. (Can you please check if your child’s hat, scarf etc is named.)
Please remember to send a named baby photograph of your child in as we will be looking at “how we grow” in the coming weeks.
