There is great excitement in school this week as our tiny caterpillars have arrived in the classroom. We are watching them closely as they grow and have been learning how they will change into a chrysalis then a beautiful butterfly. The children have been listening to “ The hungry caterpillar “ story , painting and making 3D caterpillars and we even had some of the food he eats for our snack today. Ask your child what they had to eat!
We are lucky enough to have also had an incubator with 7 eggs leant to us . This is such a wonderful thing for the children to experience. Over the next 3 weeks we will be able to watch as they hatch into baby chicks.
As the weather has been so lovely we have been spending plenty of time outside and the children have enjoyed developing their mark making skills on the ground with chalk. This is an area we continue to practice getting ready for P1.
They are exploring colour mixing using different materials and had great fun painting their hands as you can see. We also got some beautiful pictures of rainbows.
