Today was the culmination of our topic of Pirates and we celebrated with a fantastic Pirate Day. The children have had a busy time preparing for it this week. We have been making treasure maps stained with cold tea and pirate treasure bottles which work using a magnet to move the treasure.
The children all looked amazing today dressed up in their costumes and enjoyed a variety of pirate themed activities. We made paper swords, practiced our pirate writing skills, decorated some tasty biscuits, got a tattoo, played “ stick parrot on the pirate” , walked the plank and had some pirate punch and fruit boats for snack. They even found a treasure map !!!! ( the tattoos can be removed by cleaning with baby oil a few times )
We followed the map and discovered X marked the spot where the treasure was hidden. Enjoy using the goodie bag outside at home with your child.
