Everyone is very excited about our new topic of “pirates“ this month. We have started by looking at and talking about boats of different shapes and sizes / with engines, sails or oars. The children are enjoying learning new songs and rhymes all about pirates and life at sea. We have a new tongue twister which you can practice at home “Pirate Pat has a pet parrot Pete”. We are also continuing to observe our caterpillars which have now all turned into the chrysalis stage.
Wednesday was a very exciting day as we went on a trip to visit Holy Trinity Nursery School. The bus took us to see our new friends and we had great fun playing outside in their playground. We enjoyed having a picnic snack and exploring a different school.
On Thursday we finished our last session of Urban dance with Melanie. The children received their certificates and a little treat to celebrate their achievements. It has been great to watch how they have developed confidence and rhythm over the six weeks since they started.
As you can see we have been able to start sorting out our new playground. This will take a while as it isn’t finished yet but the children are enjoying being able to explore the different areas and the equipment that is back out to play with.
