This week we are continuing our topic of Princes and Princesses. The children are enjoying learning lots of songs and rhymes. We would love parents to join us in school on Friday 5th May at 1.15 for a cup of tea to celebrate the coronation. The ice cream van will come for finishing up at 2pm. The children can dress up if they wish and can wear the crowns they have made.
Mrs Ingrid Logan is in Nursery School for the next couple of weeks in the role of ‘Acting Principal’. She taught for twenty years in the Model school and was Vice Principal there for ten. She was seconded to work with the Education Authority as a school improvement officer and was Principal in Lisbellaw Primary for her final ten years in education. We welcome Mrs Logan and hope she enjoys her time in Enniskillen Nursery School.
Parents have now received an offer of a pre school place for September. This year there have been a huge number of applicants and as always we adhere to the strict admissions criteria set by the Education Authority. Unfortunately this year there were ten children in our pre pre class meeting the same criteria for five places in the full time session. These five places were allocated using a randomiser computer program and we the staff have no input into which children are selected for the places. We appreciate that some parents are very disappointed and we understand this. All our classes next year have only pre School children and all will be following the Pre School curriculum.
