The children have been exploring the dark, using torches and making shadows. We are talking about nocturnal animals that come out at night time. We have also been talking about bedtime and all the things we do before we go to bed, get supper, brush teeth, put on pyjamas and have a story. The children have been having lots of fun putting on dressing gowns, pyjamas, slippers and getting into the beds for a story with a hot water bottle. We will continue this theme next week before moving onto space and planets.
We are focusing on the language of questioning. When does the moon come out? Where do we go to sleep? What do we use a tooth brush for? Why do we need to brush our teeth? Who do we go to see to check our teeth? Children can find these questions difficult. At home you can reinforce this learning by asking these questions and talking about your bedtime routines.
